Past Workshops

NeFSMA in conjunction with the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources offered workshops on floodplain and stormwater management. The workshops are co-sponsored by NeFSMA. Click here for information on past workshops.

Future Meetings and Workshops

NeFSMA's second annual statewide floodplain and stormwater management conference will be held on Friday July 30, 2010 at the Ramada Conference Center in Kearney.  This year's keynote speaker will be Dr. Kenneth Dewey, Professor of Applied Climate Science at UNL.  This years seminars will include:

• Community Guidance: Policies and Ordinances/Forms and Certificates
• Hydrology and Hydraulics for Flood and Stormwater Management and Design
• New EPA Construction Effluent Guidelines
• Post-Construction Integrated Management Practices
• No Adverse Impact Development in the Floodplain
• Levee Decertification and Recertification
• Tips to Present Highly Technical Data to a Non-Technical Audience
• How to Successfully Secure a Hazard Mitigation Grant.

Attendees will earn 6 CFM credits.  To register, fill out the Registration Form and return with a check for $40 to Lori Laster, 8901 S. 154th St., Omaha, NE 68138.  Please register by July 16, 2010.
